Hello stranger

I am Emilie.

Strong on communication, trust and integrity. Curious by nature, development-oriented by instinct and a problem solver at heart, I believe there is usually more potential in people, organisations and ideas than meets the eye.

Some might call me a ridiculous (time) optimist. Personally, I prefer possibilist, although I will happily accept both. Where some see a limitation, I tend to get curious. I like to think challenges are possibilities in disguise. And that every ending holds the promise of another beginning, another chance to learn, question or rethink.

Sometimes, all it takes is a change of perspective.

Perhaps that's why I've never been much of a linear thinker.

After all, change and growth rarely follow a straight line, and complex problems rarely call for simple solutions.

Growing up, I was taught that questions are rarely stupid. Quite the opposite. If you want to understand the world, you have to be curious enough to question it. And open enough to let what comes back challenge your perspective.

Because rarely does one perspective tell the whole story.

So I look for the red thread. And when it is missing, I create one.

Each piece has a story of its own. What emerges between them reveals a bigger picture.

Consider this CV part of my red thread. I invite you to follow it, piece things together and make your own sense of what you find.

And if it leaves you with a question or two, perhaps that is where our conversation begins.

01 / Education

Six years of problem-based learning.

Academically raised on problem-based, project-oriented learning, grounded in real-world complexities, collaboration and the interplay of perspectives.

A way of learning that became a way of thinking. Admittedly, I've never been particularly good at considering a question settled.

When change is our new constant, why would understanding ever be final?

03 / A Matter of Perspective

More than the sum
of its parts.

I believe in people's potential.Especially when they have yet to see it themselves.

01 / Possibility

Possibility.

An almost instinctive refusal to accept that what is currently visible represents the full extent of what is possible.

Curiosity · Challenging assumptions · Creative thinking

02 / Belief

Belief.

A fascination with what happens when people begin to see possibilities in themselves that they hadn't previously considered. Because belief has a curious way of changing what we dare to attempt.

Empowerment · Ownership · Development

03 / Coherence

Coherence.

Connecting perspectives, intentions and actions into a bigger picture. Because even the strongest idea loses something when the experience doesn't live up to the intention.

Sensemaking · Concept development · Experience

Coherence in practice

01 / Intention

Intention.
What we're trying to achieve. And why it matters.

02 / Translation

Translation.
How intentions become decisions, actions and everyday practice.

03 / Experience

Experience.
What people actually encounter, understand and take away.

“I have a slightly unreasonable relationship with quality.”

Aesthetics isn't decoration.It's coherence.

What I stand for

Curiosity over assumptions.
I'd rather ask one question too many than mistake my perspective for the whole story.
Trust over control.
Give people ownership, room to think and the confidence to find their own way.
Integrity over appearances.
What we do should reflect what we say. Especially when nobody is watching.
Co-creation over convincing.
The most interesting ideas rarely belong to one perspective. They emerge when we're willing to build on each other's.

Don't just take
my word for it.

Some stories are better told from another perspective.
